It started really creeping up more than 10 years ago.
About Me:
I'm so tired of this weight! I enjoy swimming, biking, walking, currently doing some jogging. It's just that much tougher for a 40+ nonathlete when she's lugging around alot of extra weight. Also bad for my self-esteem.
Do you take vitamins or other supplements?

Day 1

I read Awaken the Diet Within yesterday. I really like the way it's laid out, with one thing to work on at a time. And that I get to decide how long before I move on to the next behavior change.

I'm doing ok already with water, breakfast and sort of with exercise. So I decided Week One I'd work on getting a good night's sleep. When I do this, I can focus the next day. hi mary, sorry i didn't respond to your comment in dec. but i must of missed it on the email!!i'm getting to the place where i fell frustrated with the whole weight gain/dieting. not sure which way to go and it seems like i'm still gaining.i need to get all julia's books and cd's out again and start over!! imy son is getting married in april and i really didn't want to shop in the plus size store.

Hi Mary, hey thanks for the comment i havent been on line for a while because recently my friend passed away...and sad to say i started drinking coffee agian... dont know why i think that will make me feel better- it doesnt - just makes me gain agian! but i am back to green tea agian and it makes me feel good and it is no calories...anyway good to know theres motovation from our online friends to keep on vice bustin!!! anyway good luck on your race! have fun!!!

It's a bit like a treasure hunt. You bike, run, use a scooter or skates, maybe swim or kayak. All sorts of locomotion. The one I want to do has either 3 or 6 person teams. Three people have to be on the race course at all times. It uses the city as the race course.

The team gets clues as to where you're supposed to go next. Once they figure it out, use the locomotion that's listed, they go to the destination and take a photo of themselves there or bring back proof they've been there.

I volunteered last year and it was so much fun. I need to get in shape to do it. Bike riding will never be my strong area, but I think I can get in shape enough for the kayaking and walking/running, and using a scooter. And I need to find a team that isn't too competitive! One in it for the fun more than placing.

Hi Mary,
It is so much harder to be active when you are carrying extra weight around. An urban adventure race sounds cool- what is it?
